Scheduling your Video Visit is as easy as scheduling an appointment with us as you would ordinarily do. You can call to schedule at (516) 621-1982 or you can schedule by clicking this link.

Video Visits take place using the Walk-in Dermatology Video Visit app, which is provided free by Spruce Health. You can use a computer, mobile phone or a tablet to conduct your Video Visit with us. If you need technical assistance with downloading or using your Video Visit app, please call us at (516) 200-3545 or email team@vgfyshym.elementor.cloud. We will respond to any inquiries promptly.

Spruce Health provides us with a free app to use for your Video Visit. If you have a microphone and camera on your desktop computer, you can login on the Spruce Health website. Most of our patients use a mobile device or tablet for their Video Visit. You can download the app that’s easiest for you using these links:

In a Video Visit we can address acne, rosacea, rashes, suspicious spots, eczema, psoriasis and some skin infections. Our dermatologists can also recommend a personalized skin care regimen to help you look and feel your best. Appointments that require physical examinations such as full body skin exams, skin biopsies or other procedures still require an office visit and at the time of your Video Visit, your dermatologist will make an assessment as to whether an in-person office visit is needed.

Yes. Video Visits are available for children 2 years of age and up, so long as they are accompanied on their Video Visit by a parent or legal guardian. Young adults 18 years of age and older can conduct a Video Visit without a parent or legal guardian present at the time of their Video Visit.

We are taking every precaution to keep our patients safe. We will be seeing patients in person on a limited basis depending on the outcome of your Video Visit. Expect that if you do see us in person that prior to your visit you will be asked some screening questions. You will also be asked to sanitize your hands at the entranceway of our office and you will be asked to put on a protective mask, which you are welcome to keep after your visit.

Scheduling your video visit is easy. You’ll need to provide us with the reason for your visit and basic information including your name and address, along with information about your insurance, if that applies to you.

If you have not seen one of our dermatologists before, prior to your Video Visit you will need to complete our patient registration form. There are two ways you can do this:

No. If you have downloaded the Video Visit app from Spruce Health prior to the time of your visit, you do not have to sign in early for your scheduled appointment, just be prepared and have your device ready for our dermatologist to initiate the Video Visit at your scheduled appointment time. If you have not downloaded the Video Visit app, we will send you a text message with a link to do so prior to your scheduled appointment.

At the time of your scheduled appointment, if your device is locked, you will see a notification pop-up on your screen which says, “Video call from your healthcare provider.” If your device screen is unlocked, you will see a notification for “Incoming video call” along with the name and photo of your dermatologist.

At the time of your appointment, you should have all pertinent medical records and any medications that you may be using to treat any current condition(s). This information helps your dermatologist to understand your medical history, make a diagnosis, and suggest treatment options. You should also have your insurance card handy, as well as a referral, if applicable.

We understand there may be times when you might miss an appointment due to emergencies or obligations to work or family. If you are unable to keep your Video Visit appointment, please call our office at least 48 hours before your appointment. If you miss your appointment and do not call to cancel, there is a $25 cancellation fee.

Walk-in Dermatology participates in a wide range of health plans and accepts most major insurance providers. It’s important that you contact your insurance provider to verify your coverage and determine your individual plan requirements regarding in-network physicians, referrals, authorizations, co-pays and deductibles. Most insurance plans cover Video Visits, also known as “telehealth” or “telemedicine” visits. However, it’s important for you to check with your insurance provider to confirm that you are covered for these benefits. Note that if your claim is denied by your insurance provider, you will only be responsible for a maximum payment of $75, which includes the cost of any copayments you may have made prior to your visit.

You can still see our dermatologists for a Video Visit, even if you don’t have health insurance. You will only be responsible for a total payment of $75.
